We keep a working selection of local and branded dressmaking fabrics on the bolts at our atelier, chosen for how they sew, drape and survive real Bangkok wear. The collection below sits in the 300-800 THB per metre range, which we've found to be the sweet spot of quality and value for everyday and semi-formal dresses.
For premium cloth, we also stock imported brands like Holland & Sherry, Officine Paladino, Drago, Fox Brothers, Dormeuil, and Vitale Barberis Canonico. Those are the ones we'd suggest for formal suits, overcoats, and luxury pieces where the cloth is doing most of the work.
If you can't find what you want here, we're happy to point you to other fabric shops in Bangkok, especially for very colourful patterns, chiffons, Italian and local Thai silks. For general dressmaking, the bolts below mostly cover what you'll need.
Local fabrics we carry at the atelier
The right fabric does half the design work for you.
Silky Satin / Izabella

A silk-synthetic blend with a soft hand and a moderate sheen. It catches light without going theatrical, which makes it a workhorse for blouses, evening dresses, and special-occasion wear. More forgiving than pure silk: survives frequent wear and washing without losing the drape. Available in a wide range of hues.
Great for: blouses, evening dresses and special-occasion pieces that want soft sheen without pure-silk fuss.
Indigoly
A lightweight cotton with a subtle pattern. Breathable enough for daily wear in Bangkok, with a soft drape that moves nicely on flowing skirts and maxi dresses. We use it most for shirts, light skirts, and breathable dresses with a thin lining.
Great for: everyday Bangkok shirts, light skirts and lined, breathable maxi dresses.
Duchess Satin

Heavier and more structured than silky satin, with a clean sheen. Holds shape on bodices and full skirts, which is why it's been a wedding-gown fabric for generations. We use it most often for tailored wedding dresses and structured evening gowns where the silhouette has to hold up under a long day of standing and dancing.
Great for: wedding gowns and structured evening dresses that must hold a silhouette through a long day.
Tina 83
A modern Japanese poly-wool blend that's quietly become one of our most-recommended bolts for everyday wear. It resists wrinkles in Bangkok humidity, holds a press, and washes cleanly. We cut it into women's suits, work dresses, and travel pieces. Comes in a wide range of colours and subtle textures.
Great for: work suits, office dresses and travel pieces that need to stay pressed in humidity.
Pearl

A fabric with a soft pearly gloss that adds depth without shouting. Works equally well on classic ball gowns and modern sheath dresses, and comes in everything from pale pastels to deep jewel tones. We tend to suggest Pearl when a client wants the fabric itself to be the feature, with cleaner cuts elsewhere on the dress.
Great for: ball gowns and modern sheaths where the cloth itself is the feature, with cleaner cuts elsewhere.
Bella

A medium-weight 100% polyester woven for a soft, rayon-like hand, with a subtle creased texture across the surface. It reads natural and a little organic rather than flat and synthetic, which is why we like it. There's a touch of give, it breathes well in the heat, drapes softly, and is genuinely easy to care for. We reach for it on blouses, easy summer dresses, and mini dresses when you want a relaxed, lived-in look. 58 inches wide at 180 GSM.
Great for: relaxed blouses, easy summer dresses and mini dresses when you want a soft, lived-in hand.
